Be Inspired and Learn Something New
Visionary architect Antoni Gaudí famously said, "The straight line belongs to men, the curved one to God."
We live in a natural world of curves and circles, and it is us humans who started dividing it up with lines and sharp angles.
Gaudí of course integrated the curves of nature into his own creations of which the Art Nouveau architecture style takes a cue. Near where I live in Brussels, Belgium, 2023 was a year long celebration of Art Nouveau. I’ve photographed some of the unique buildings here which bring organic rounded edges of nature into their design.
Your mission this week, whether in nature or the city, is to be sure to watch out for all things rounded, then go create some photos.
Last Week’s Prompt Photos for “Wonderland”
Last week we were swept away to “Wonderland” through the eyes and imaginings of the Aminus3 photography community.
For many, wonderland was a beautiful scene or moment in time.
For the most part, wonderland often looks very peaceful.
Snowy weather in many parts of the world yielded some lovely winter wonderlands.
Some people reflected on places they’ve lived before, and the feelings they experienced while there.

Photograph taken from the French window of a house where I once lived. A little paradise surrounded by ponds where geese, peacocks, rabbits and others animals strolled on the lawn.
Wonderland can be a state of mind or achievement, like this photo from 2017 of the Cardiff Devils winning the championship. Photographed by Ted from the UK.
Some interpretations of wonderland were a little more off the wall (or ceiling) as in the case of this one from Vaido in Estonia.
