Be Inspired and Learn Something New
We are used to things happening fast.
Instantaneous in some cases.
But in reality, all things mature and are completed in their own time.
Gaudí’s great work, The Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona started construction in 1882 and is just now expected to be completed in the next year. A masterpiece spanning more than 140 years in the making.
For this photography prompt of construction, you can go the literal route, such as cranes and scaffolding.
If you are feeling more creative and adventurous, spend some time reflecting on areas of your life that might be still “Under Construction” and then create a photo to honor that thing.
For me personally, I have a lot of projects in the works that have spanned years, and it is easy to get down on myself for not bringing them closer to completion.
If you are feeling similar, it is helpful to reflect on how far you’ve come and the accomplishments you’ve had along the way.
Then maybe one day it will be time to take down that old “Under Construction” sign and get it out into the world.
Last Week’s Prompt Photos for “Phenomenon”
Last week was all about the strange, novel, and interesting. We were treated to many original frames portraying unique moments from around the world.
Some of the phenomenons were truly stellar events, such as the magical colors of the Northern Lights, or the recent total solar eclipse.

Other phenomenons were more subtle, such as displays of nature which occur in remote places, not often observed by people.
This photo of “Summer Snow” from Ron in Canada is a great example.

“I have hiked to the Trophy Meadows on quite a few occasions and try to time my visit when the flowers are in bloom. Around the end of June, once the snow has melted off the meadows, there must be tens of thousand of glacier lilies which have emerged from the ground. Note that this photo only shows a small section of the extensive meadows. On this particular visit, several years ago, I was greeted with about 3 inches of snow and it was cold out. The scene looked like winter and it was unusual to see the flowers partly buried in snow.
I had managed to hike further to Sheila Lake where the snow was a bit deeper and I couldn't see much because of the drifting fog. I ate my lunch then quickly left. It's hard to concentrate on photographing when it was so cold out.
Location: Trophy Meadows, Wells Gray Park.” Summer Snow by Ron
Daniel in Washington state, observed these sea birds dropping starfish on rocks to soften them up for meal time.

Some phenomenons were truly moments out of time such as this uniquely created image by Thami from Morocco.
