The photography prompt this week is: Completion

For those of you who have been actively sharing photos for these prompts since the start of the year, it is time for a celebration!
We have been on a creative journey over the last 22 weeks, and today marks the final prompt for this initiative. I invite you to go back and start at “Beginnings”, and continue through the archive up until this week’s newsletter to follow along.
Can you spot a pattern?
Each week we have explored different aspects of the creative cycle from inspiration to a finished thing. There were techniques suggested on how to better navigate the ups and downs of the creative process, as well as some methods to learn something about ourselves along the way.
All together, this journey has been a working proof of concept of a larger project that I am close to sharing with everyone shortly.
Thanks to the people who kindly offered to beta test the website/app, I will be sending out some more info on that very soon. I am also looking forward to getting this in front of a wider audience shortly after.
Until then, I offer a tip of the hat, and a little jig to honor the occasion of this completion.
Coming back to the prompt this week, about now, schools and universities are celebrating graduation, that time when young minds complete a phase of their lives in preparation to begin the next one.
While completions can feel final, beginnings and endings are most often a turn on a spiraling wheel, before the next phase begins anew. This is what cycles are all about.
With that in mind, you could think of this prompt of “Completion” as a graduation, or mastery, or some other similar idea.
Did you ever finish a project and step back to appreciate all of the dedicated work that got you there?

As I typed this up, I watched the farmers near my house finish another round of hay harvesting for the season, ending in an assortment of freshly wrapped bales which were soon whisked away for their next destination.

What other types of completion can you consider and photograph?
Give it some thought and share some pics.

Last Week’s Prompt Photos for “Morning”
Transitioning from last week to this one, and looking at the photos for morning, there were a few themes of completion in there as well.
Brad Yonaka and Paul Williams shared these incredible culmination moments with us, after hiking, climbing, or camping through the night until first light of morning.
David Concannon had a morning/mourning experience of a different kind that represented a completion as he honored his Mother’s last wish by returning her remains to the sea.
These were a few other selections from the Morning prompt last week. You can find the full links below.
