Be Inspired and Learn Something New
Last week we looked at the power of threes, and how an odd number of subjects can add interest to a photo.
This week we go further down to singular subjects with the prompt of “alone”.
For me there is something magical about a lone tree in nature that makes for a compelling photo.
Of course it helps when you have a little light from above shining down, as we see in this masterful image from landscape photographer, Don Smith.
What are other ways to convey the idea of “alone” in your photos?
Is “alone” a visual concept? An emotional idea?
Perhaps somewhere in between?
These are a few visual explorations of the idea of “alone” that I pulled from my archives. As with all the prompts each week, it is up to you to interpret the theme as you choose.
Don’t forget to share a few photos with us on your Aminus3 website or here on Substack.
