Be Inspired and Learn Something New
This week starts with some philosophical questions.
A person screams her heart out into an empty room.
Is she a poet? A performer?
Does performance require an audience?
or is it just the act of acting out?
Are humans the only creative creatures in the universe capable of performing, or are there other types of performances happening around us all the time?
Do you consider the brilliance of nature to be a kind of performance?
These are some ideas to take into your photography this week as you consider the concept of “Performance” in all forms.
If all the world is truly a stage, what doth that make us?
Last Week’s Prompt Photos for “Blended”
Every so often, some prompts prove to be a little more challenging than others.
That seemed to be the case this week as people pondered how to portray the theme of “Blended” in their own images.
The last newsletter suggested multi-exposure as a way of interpreting this prompt.
Many creative composites were shared, including a mix of computer edited, digital in-camera, and film/analog multi-exposures.
Vaido from Estonia traveled forty years back in time with this “Double Vision”, which he described as:
“A photo of me taken with my camera 40 years ago on film, and two images were randomly exposed on the same frame - no digital processing was applied.”
Juliette posted this analog multi-exposure photographed on a Yashica Mat twin lens reflex camera.
A few more digital multi-exposures from Alex Kustanovich and Mhelene
Reflections were another popular visual element to create different blends.
There were some other original ideas for “Blended” the sprang up.
Steven from Chicago shared this timely seasonal image of a colorful blend of fallen autumn leaves. One of nature’s many great performances this time of year.
Benjamin Tress shared a blend of locked layers.
And finally, our weekend would not be complete without at least one blended adult beverage, compliments of Paco in Spain.
