Be Inspired and Learn Something New
While the prompts are meant to be open ended for interpretation, this week we are going to suggest a shared project for everyone to participate.
In this global audience, it is worth remembering that something you consider ordinary around the corner from your house might be completely new and cool for someone else.
The idea this week is to create a postcard from where you live or are currently traveling. You can even write a little story as if you were writing a postcard to someone from across the world.
It could be phenomenon that is unique to your area, or even something you find boring or ordinary that someone else may have never seen.
Some examples from places I’ve lived past and present:
These beautiful red cardinals are a very common across the United States, but extremely rare to find in Europe or Asia. ~ Jason
Outside Brussels, Belgium near the town of Overijse, there are professional cycling races that come through every summer. ~ Jason
A few years ago we did something similar with Postcards From the World, where we asked the global Aminus3.com photography community to share photos and a story with students in the United States from a school in Detroit, Michigan.
Many of these students had never traveled away from their own neighborhood, and had never visited the downtown of their own city just a few miles away.
By sharing photos and stories from other parts of the world, they were able to learn what everyday people from other places experience. This was one of the photos that was shared with them from these joyful boys in India. You can find an interactive version of all the postcards on the Aminus3 website.
With Love from India.

Once all of the postcards have been shared for this prompt, we are going to feature them all in a special gallery.
